Getting to Oban

Oban is located on the west coast of Scotland and getting there is a scenic journey which can be one of the best parts about visiting Oban. Once in Oban you can hire a car or bike and can use regular ferries to the surrounding areas. A map of Oban can be found by clicking here


Oban is reached by taking the A82 on the West side of Loch Lomond. From here you can via Tyndrum or follow the A83 through Inverary. Both journeys take about two to three hours from central Scotland. The AA website can be used to plan your route by clicking here.


First ScotRail runs a train service three times a day from Glasgow Queen Street Station to Oban, apart from on Sundays when it is only twice a day. The First ScotRail website has all the details on times and prices.
