The Helen BrownLismore Heritage CentreFishing smacksVisitors will be met at Point on Lismore and  taken by minibus to Port Ramsay the original harbour for the Lismore fleet of sailing smacks trading in coal and lime.  The group will then be taken to the Lismore Heritage Centre to view displays on the maritime and lime burning history of the island in the museum, including the new audiovisual presentation, which features memories of members of the island community; and to take lunch at the Lismore Café.  

The afternoon programme will be an organised walk to the limestone quarry, kilns and harbour at Sailean (round trip of 5 miles).
Visitors will be returned to the 5pm ferry.

£3.50 entry fee for the museum. Visitors will pay for the own lunch and ferry fare.

Wheelchair access: yes

Please bring waterproofs, reasonable level of fitness required, there may be uneven paths.

Suitable for all ages. The new audiovisual display features gaelic.
